Jasee M.Thamby holds more than 25 years of experience in strategic communication, stakeholders’ engagement, brand marketing and project management. During her career in Malaysia, she has served in several companies namely Southern Bank and The New Straits Times Press Malaysia (NSTP) focusing mainly in branding and public relations. Next, she moved to the agriculture and commodities industry working at the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) during which she has worked closely with the Members of the European Parliament (EU-MEPs) on matters pertaining to environment, sustainability, and policies through PR and extensive international outreach programs.
Her interest in the international ties between Asean and the EU has brought her independently to Brussels in 2011 to pursue her MBA. In Belgium, Jasee has worked with reputable companies such as GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines R&D on innovation campaign, Holcim Building Envelope on EMEA rebranding, Tenneco Automotive Europe on change management and Caobisco Europe on sustainability and EU funded projects.
Given her vast experience working with international stakeholders, she has led numerous projects in various multicultural settings. Jasee uses her strength in communication to integrate with targeted audiences towards achieving a successful project outcome. She is a proactive professional with global perspective. She holds a MBA in International Management from UIBS Brussels Business School and a BBA (Hons) Marketing from Mara University of Technology Malaysia. Jasee speaks fluent English, Malay, Tamil, Dutch (intermediate) and French (near intermediate) level.
Although Jasee is based in Brussels, she is well connected to the Malaysian economic fabric and contributes to ASEANCHAM-EU with her network.
